Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi all;

Just before the lockdown, I was organising a New River Walk clean-up from Seven Sisters Road to Middleton Road.  It never happened but I have walked it a couple of times and it doesn't look too bad.

There is a course that Thames21 is offering called Leading Action for Healthy Rivers training. I am going to take the course, but I've been asked to share this with others who would be interested in forming a River Action Group.  They say that having a couple of people trained up helps with the momentum and sustainability of a group.

Here are the details of the course.

The course is taking place on Tuesday 24th November (online) and Tuesday 1st December (practical and online). In order to complete this accredited course it requires that trainees attend all four sessions and complete some straight forward, and hopefully useful assignments. See this event listing for full details. (Note the information on the calendar listing for 1st December is the same as this link to 24th November).

They said that there might be the option of running the practical session on Saturday 5th December AM as well as Tuesday 1st December as is currently scheduled, but it depends on the level of interest and whether getting to a site (probably Markfield Park in South Tottenham) on a week day morning would limit who can attend.  Please let me know if Saturday morning would be your preference and/or if this means you can attend.

If you have any questions or are interested let me know.  Just really looking for one other possibly two.  Let me know and we can have a chat.

Regards,

James

Hello,
I would be keen to be part of a clean-up but could not commit to an online course. I vould make 1st Dec 2020. Thanks
Hi P Goldman; The Dec 1st date is part of the online course. It's not a clean-up date. There's a couple of short assignments you have to do. I assume this is about leading a group with you're at a site. I will keep you in mind when there is a clean up though. Thanks so much for your interest. Cheers, James

I could be interested in helping, but no time to do extra training, just happy to help if it’s easy

Hi James - John from today's Thames 21 course. I mislaid your email I'm afraid. But if you get back to me on johnmiles68@yahoo.co.uk I'll send you the details for next Monday's meeting of the Haringey Rivers Forum
