Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

someone on our street is playing incredibly loud music in their front garden. on the one hand it's fair enough and they are just having a nice time on a Saturday afternoon. But it also means the rest of us are forced to listen to music we didn't choose and, in my case, its meant I can't even sit in the garden because the music is so loud its doing my head in. I wondered what other people think about this- should we suck it up and say its the a free country or am I justified in feeling a bit frustrated?

Justified. We live close so we must compromise.

I feel your pain, particularly if it's a regular occurrence. That said, if it's a one off then possibly let them carry on for a while. If as you say it's in the front garden in your street it won't be hard to find them ask got the volume to be turned down a bit.

Justified. This drives me mad too. One person’s music choice forces about 50 people all around to listen to it!

I actually just knocked on the door and very politely said that our children couldn't use the garden as the music was so loud and the lady said she would tell her daughter to turn it down a bit. I think she has. I now wish I had done that two hours ago.

Sorted!

That’s very good. We lived next door to a Spanish hard rock band for a few years. We never complained about band practice but when we did occasionally ask them to turn it down they were unwaveringly lovely.

Are you on Seymour Road, Sarfraz?

I have a back garden

But not able to sit out there much. As other neighbours have competitions who can have the Loudest music or Slinkiest Barbeque

If not music it Loud Voices

Plus seem several seemed to have magic growth in numbers living in property using the gardens

I'd say you're justified. I have a very large collection of records but I am careful to not play them too loud even inside the house because I don't want to force my music onto my neighbours.

Believe that not just a issue of playing music. It's trying to hear theirs's against other close neighbours

Joke becomes when they are in a majority of different languages

What do you mean by different languages, are you complaining about loud voices that you don't understand?
