Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

For the past few days, we've had the same bumble bee, repeatedly visiting the same part of the same flower on the window cill by the kitchen sink. Each time, it stays almost still for several minutes in one spot, repositions itself a bit, or maybe moves a bit, then stays still for a few more minutes and so on. I haven't waited it out, but each visit seems to last for at least 10-15 minutes, maybe a lot longer.

I'm assuming this has something to do with an early spring refuel. But, it seems like strange behaviour. Or, is it just something I've never noticed before?

Any naturalists out there with an answer?

Warming up in the sun?

Probably like bees, bumblebees need flowers whenever they’re active, especially after hibernation

Thanks Samantha. It was the repeated long duration, almost motionless visits to just one or two blooms of the same flower over several days that I thought odd.
