Hi,
Our toilet has blocked up a few times recently after never having had problems before. The second person to clear it has pointed out that it looks like our external waste pipe is a bit damaged. It's therefore likely there's a crack under the ground that is causing things to catch & causing the blockages.
Any recommendations on somebody who could pull up the concrete, identify if there's a crack and fix the pipe?
Thanks,
Ashleena

Hi Leena - You should be able to get a CCTV survey done of the below ground drain to locate any cracks without having to lift any paving and commit to that cost. They'll feed a camera down there and inspect it that way.
I've used a Certified Drain Services and Express Drainage Solutions (catchy) a number of times on client's projects, but there are lots of people that can help. Should be around £100-200.

He fixed a drainpipe for me not long ago. Reliable, quick and reasonably priced.
best wishes,

If you live in a terraced house built before 1900, it is likely that your sewage drainage is shared with 4 or 5 neighbours, one of you will have a big square drain cover in the back garden. I had a similar problem (several years ago) but I hope it's still the case that Thames Water is responsible for clearing and repairing, because none of you individually can be responsible for what has blocked up underground. https://www.thameswater.co.uk/help-and-advice/drains-and-sewers
It took some long phone calls and a lot of persistence, but worth a try.
The train cover was in my garden (end of terrace, alley between houses), and they send the little tanker with a big hose to suck it out!!
