I'm looking for a builder who can identify and fix what seems to be rising damp in our hall. Can any one recommend a local builder who might help?

Hi sue - before you waste any money on a survey please read this. https://www.heritage-house.org/damp-and-condensation/managing-damp-...
Very much an authority on ‘damp’ in the UK and might help you think about options more rationally. Whereabouts is the issue manifesting? We are looking to follow the above advice in our hallway so we might be in a similar situation.
Our 'damp' is in the hallway, on a party wall, not an outside wall, first noticed it a couple of years ago but it's getting to the point where we need to do something about it as it's spreading. Thanks for the link, I'll read it through carefully. Would be grateful for any advice you can offer if we are dealing with the same type of issue
We have exactly the same issue - is it by the basement door?
It's along the wall behind the front door above the cellar. The cellar has always been pretty damp so I'm guessing it's coming from there. But the wall below in the cellar doesn't seem noticibly damper that any other part of the celler.
Are you on the Ladder?
Hi - yes, us and our next door neighbor have this very issue. Maybe we should connect and compare notes?
Yes, definitely we should compare notes, especially as I have just read the all the material on the link you send. How do we exchange cintact details without making them public on HoL?
