Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Last night we had both our kids' bikes stolen from outside our house on Seymour Road.

They were D-locked and both had heavy-duty chains through both wheels, connected to a metal bracket screwed into the wall.

All of this was cut through without us hearing it and they were taken.

Sometime around 11 or 12 o'clock.

Two quick points:

(1) If you have bikes outside on the Ladder, it clearly doesn't matter how securely you lock them. They can still be nicked. Watch out.

(2) Don't suppose anyone saw / heard anything suspicious.

Sorry to hear about this, Hugh. It's horribel that it was the kids' bikes that were taken.

How despicable. What I find particularly galling is just how little the thieves are likely to get, in comparison to the cost/heartache to you and your family.

I hope this doesn't put you off cycling. You can see local Bikehangers here https://cyclehoop.force.com/RentalsCommunity/resultsmap?postalCode=...

I hope the link works. You can also request a Bikehanger for your road. It looks like there isn't one on Seymour so why not request one?

I've just remembered I've got a children's bike for sale. It's a white 24 inch (wheel) Jamis from Evans. It's in good condition although it could do with a clean. 24 inch wheels are the right size for children over 7 with a minimum height of 127cms. £50 and I'll clean it.

We’d be up for getting a bike hanger on Seymour if others are interested... although not sure where it would go once we have two way traffic and back to back parking...

speaking of which, does anyone know anything at all about the long signposted two-way temp traffic on  Seymour?

We’ve heard nothing; no flyer through the door or anything to say how it will work with parked cars on both sides, when it is happening and how long for.

does anyone have any info?
