Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I noticed when I posted something in here last week that the post box is different to usual. What I posted was 2nd class...over a week ago..and still hasn't arrived. The first thing i thought was "is it emptied daily?" Anyone know?

Thanks.

I had a similar experience. I posted two birthday cards, first class, on the day the new PO opened. They took at least 4 days to arrive. I tend to use street pillar boxes now.

I'm going to do that from now on.

The post box is now marked closed.

That the new post box inside??

That doesn’t bode well. A post-office that can’t manage a post box! Yikes!

There's what looks like a new pillar box just round the corner in Chesterfield Gardens, with a last collection at 5.30pm, which I'm guessing may have been put there because the new Post Office doesn't have an external box as the old one did, so nobody could post anything outside opening hours.

My experience of the new branch isn't that reassuring, either: when I handed a small parcel over for posting, the person at the counter asked me, quite seriously, "Is that the address it's going to?" - which seemed a bit strange, as it was written on the front of the parcel where... er... you'd normally write the address.

I went to post a package this morning at 11.55 hoping it would arrive Monday, but they told me I'd already missed today's post. I'm sure the old PO was open until 12.30 for Saturday collections.
