Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Warning: Strange man sitting in peoples doorways in the Harringay Gardens

I was sitting at home last night about 9.30pm and a strange guy came and sat on my doorstep.

As I stood on the other side of the door I could hear him messing with the door and then peering through the keyhole. I then shouted what are you doing and he walked off and started looking in other peoples Gardens.

I then saw him this morning on Stanhope walking around again.

I have reported to the police.

He is short with very dark hair in a longish bowl haircut wearing a brown jacket. He has a mid brown skin colour.

Please be on the lookout.

Is it the same guy as the one in a blue puffer jacket, slim build? He nearly gave me a heart attack the other day when he hid in my porch. I saw him from inside the house pressed up against my front door. Then he ran off. Then on Friday we were sitting outside Antepliler and he was wandering up and down the stretch of Green Lanes between Roseberry Gardens and Rutland. He was looking in cars.  My partner has also seen him running down Roseberry Gardens and hiding in porches late at night

Once I realised it was the same guy I was quite unnerved. I was walking back on my own with 2 young children.

I don’t want to be all judgey and assume he is up to no good but I also want to know if I need to take extra care when he is around and call the police if he is known to be running and hiding because he has broken the law...

Same here. I understand there are going to be homeless and desperate people around, and I hope they're able to seek help. But yes, I think it's worth at least calling 101 for the police if he's in your doorway etc. Just that after seeing him wrestling to get away from a police officer, and we're seeing him look in cars, stand on people's private property etc - you want to make sure you're able to feel safe.

Can you give us a facial description? Hair etc?

I think there might be two convos going on here about two/three different men. One lives on st ann's road, white male, long blond hair in ponytail, uses crutches, and begs for money outside his own house near the off licence near chestnuts park. Another guy, the one sitting in doorways, looking in cars etc, slightly dark skin, almost a bob kind of haircut, usually unshaven, sort of dressed ok... and then there's another guy, white male, unshaven, begs on green lanes etc. Have seen him not be happy with people at a bus stop etc before.

The second guy you describe seems to be the one most worrying people - dark bobbed hair and tanned skin quite small and slim. He is the one who sat in my doorway looking through the door.

the other two guys i see a lot and apart from being a bit rude on occasion don’t seem too much of a problem.
