Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi All.

Was wondering if anyone has converted a first floor flat on the ladder with a separate kitchen / front room at the front of the house into an open plan kitchen / diner.  My wife and I are considering do this but wondered if there is enough room.  Thought some one on the ladder might have had the same thoughts!

Plan attached (Red line is walls that would go).

Thanks!

Plans...

We have. It works beautifully and creates an abundance of light and space. Your plans don't seem to be attached but in our case the upper ground floor arrangement was a living room plus bedroom and the old kitchen was donwstairs at the back, which is the standard configuration of ground floor flat conversions.

Two considerations:

- you will have to underpin the wall you remove - although it hardly feels strucutral

- consider knocking down your hallway altogether - if you have one

You are welcome to come and have a look at how it works.
