Not sure if this the best place to post.  But, a little bit of dropped history from Queens Wood.

This item was still sitting on the surface, face down, after 50 odd years.

I wonder if the police will still honor the reward? :P
If only I could find an open Police station.

Here is another batch of eight articles, in three parts, (for technical reasons, one part in this comment and one in each of the next two) to take the story back to 1884. For ease of reference an extract of the 1895 OS map is provided below. Where reference is made to the acquisition of Gravel Pit Wood, I assume this means what is marked on the maps as both Gravel Pit Wood and Highgate Wood.
