Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Frankie has been waiting a year and a half for a permanent home.

"Hi there, my name’s Frankie and as you can see I am a handsome lad. I am around 3 years old and have been neutered and microchipped. I am a big lover of feather toys and chilling on the bed, oh and food… especially chicken. I am a little bit shy, but if you give me a chance to settle in and get to know you I have so much love to give.

I was found as a stray, fighting for food and territory with lots of other cats that weren’t wanted and needed neutering and a home, just like me. I was so frightened when I was picked up that I froze with my heart beating ten to the dozen, but my fosterer has won me round with lots of love and plenty of patience too (well, that and the chicken!).

I have already been in temporary foster care for a year and a half and I would love to not have to wait much longer for a permanent home. I would ideally like an adult home, or maybe with older children who will understand that I will need time to settle in. A home with a garden and catflap would be fab. I could live with cats, but no dogs for me thank you. If you have a little room in your heart for me, get in touch as soon as you can."

People say they love black cats....but black cats are the hardest to re home and are the most overlooked cats in the shelters. Please don't overlook Frankie.

If you would like to meet Frankie or find out more about him, please get in touch with Stokey Cats and Dogs by email and they will send you an application form. They would love to receive enquiries. Please note home checks apply.

Stokey Cats and Dogs are a local volunteer group who rescue local stray cats. It's vital that cats are neutered as there are so many homeless cats. They rescue cats and get them neutered, microchipped and rehomed. They also rely on and welcome funds donated by the community on their fundraising page here or you can donate via PayPal to stokeycatsndogs@gmail.com. They also have a Wish List on Amazon and have a Stokey Cats and Dogs Facebook group

I post regularly here in respect of Stokey cats needing homes and photos

(If you can't offer a permanent home to a cat, Stokey also urgently need more fosterers - which means providing a temporary home for a cat until a permanent home is found. You don't need to have a garden to foster. If more people foster, Stokey will be able to help more homeless cats).

I'd home him but I I've just taken two. Mother and son but retired from London and now live in the North East so maybe not possible. I've looked after many cats in the past. In fact 16 including my current two. I've had dogs as well in the past

Thanks for replying Glyn. You are clearly experienced with pets. I think you're right, your new location is likely to be tricky for Stokey as they like to do home checks, but thanks for thinking of Frankie.
