Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

just wondered if any of the other middle-aged guys out there used any of the barbers on green lanes - i tend to wait until i'm in C End at the moment but would be good to have one that was nearer - thing is the only people i ever see in the green lanes barbers is young guys getting very trendy haircuts and so i'm nervous about what i'd end up with...

any recommendations?

I go to Cheries once in a while - they're unisex so you should get the cut you want.

Istanbul is decent.

thanks, i just took a look along G Lanes and couldn't see an Istanbul barbers anyway - is it on a side street?

Sorry, should have given some directions - it's up opposite Homebase on the way to Manor House station.

ok, will take another look later maybe, thanks

I take my son to Messy Cuts next door to Harringay Green Lanes station.  They will do exactly what you ask for.  If you ask for a scissor cut, that's what you'll get.  They are very proficient and very fast.

i gave Istanbul a try - very good - thanks for all the replies

I go to Maxim, which sits between Selale and Tesco near St. Ann's road.  They're great.  Really nice guys that do a great job and always offer you tea or coffee.  Their prices have recently gone up a bit but they have completely refurbished the place, so I don't mind.  They always seem to remember everyone as well which is really nice.  When I go in nowadays they say, "nice to see you again" and ask if I want my usual.  I simply say yes and away they go.

I've used Messy Cuts now three times, and been really impressed every time. Really affordable, but a good bunch of people and they look after you well.

Then again, I'm still not quite used to the Turkish way of doing things. AMAZING.
