Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I've just posted this to the Neighbourhood Watch coordinator Pauline Syddell:

Pauline,

Yesterday I came across a neighbour - well from the top end of Cavendish Road - having his van window fixed after a break in. He said it was the third attempt on his van recently. The windscreen man said it was the third call out in this area [surrounding couple of streets] that day. A week ago there was another vehicle with a broken window at the top of Cavendish and last weekend I chased a guy who was attempting to break into a car on Wightman in the same area. My guess is that these are not all being reported to police. The officers attending the report I made didn't take a description of the offender.

You will sense that I am concerned that we may have a small number of individuals making the best of the secluded nature of the area. This is on the back of the Station stabbing, the machine gun attack and the prostitute. There seems to be very little police presence as deterrence and there is no CCTV.

Last Monday, we had to fix our car window as well. It was parked down in Kimberely Gardens. According to neighbours who were up late said that they didn't notice anything until late 2am. The backseat window was broken and had to be replaced, there were also a couple of things stolen. We did report to the police, however after a couple of days they had to close the case as there wasn't enough information on the thief(s). Hopefully things will get better soon around the area.
quite a lot of broken glass on Fairfax recently
