Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

This is my proposal for a 'W1' bus route which would be a sort of shoppers bus between Morrison's carpark in Wood Green and the Waitrose carpark in Holloway Rd, here.

Coming back it would have to come out onto Holloway Rd itself to come back up Seven Sisters (via the Odeon!)

I see that TfL have done busses like this before in Walthamstow and I think we could have something very similar.

I think we should go for an hourly service running every day of the week between approximately 9.30am and 3pm, similar to the Walthamstow bus.

I was wondering if coming back (or every second bus or something) it could elongate its route into Campsbourne which is in desperate need of a bus.

I know that some people were dreaming about it being a viable way to get from Harringay Station to halfway down the ladder etc but I really don't think that a service that regular is going to get off the ground and... baby steps.

The online petition can be signed here, please spread it around!

@Caroline - as proof, I've just dug out this shot of a certain someone driving a 236 under the bridge in June 1982 - three months before he drove the last 236 Stroud Green journey of all on 3 Sept. 1982.

Well then! That's what I get for listening to Islington planners! I'll save that picture as I'm sure it will come in useful in some future office debate.....
Given some feedback from Eddie and the first couple of signatures on the online petition We've moved our goalposts. We're looking for a proper bus to run a proper timetable on the route originally indicated. The petition has been updated. Sign it or remove your signature (sorry we won't do this again) here.

I'm trying to stay organised and run it as a proper project, part of the experiment I guess. It is going to run for four months. The online petition will run for the entire time and Eddie (along with some volunteers hopefully) will be petitioning the route door-to-door in sections. At the end of the four months (16th of September) we will have a supporting document and the petition to give to London Travelwatch and TfL.

Geek stuff:
Zoho projects to manage the project.
GoPetition for the online petition.
HarringayOnline for mentoring, motivation and "resources" (thanks).

PS I would love to have a proper project manager as it is definitely not my forte.
There should be a bus route running down wightman road.
