Thanks EMC2 for posting and thank you to everyone who came along to the lantern parade yesterday.  It was lovely to see so many people taking part in the event and a magical start to the festive period.  Thank you to Chestnuts PSA, Andy Hunt and the marshalls for bringing the Chestnuts Parade up to the park safely and to Russ and Nick for leading the Fairland Park Parade.  North Harringay PSA, Friends of Fairland Park and Harringay Community group for running fabulous food and drink stalls, plus a great Father Christmas.  

Also, Thank you to Haringey Council and Winkworth for funding the event and to the Sometimes Singers for beautiful choral singing and Indika for free samosas.

Was a lovely magical  event as ever And to add thanks to vols  Kath, Phoebe, James, Jessica, Father Christmas whose nom de plume  cannot be divulged   Jonny, Louis ( for his mammoth setting up session. ) Also to the providers of lighting ( look lovely) stilts ( a treat) brass band ( jolly ) singers ( in tune and on the  pip ) Sapori westgreen road ( esp. for fab. Arranchines). G

Father Christmas was my pick of the volunteers. It's a much harder job than you think and he was great! Dressing up in a suit, doing a convincing job of a fat, old white version of Michael Jackson and giving away hundreds of chocolate santas to excited children is not as easy as it sounds!

Also a big thank you to the local councillors who dipped into their ward budget to help make this the spectacle it was.
