What sort of creature is this?

Found this stranded on our lawn. Was wiggling about a bit. Just wondered if it's a cocoon / moth or some sort of wasp lavae?

Not in any of my books.

Oh yes! Thank you. I'm such a duffer I thought that horn was on his head, so shows how much I know. At least I saved him from a squishing though.
