Following previous discussions on HoL about HMOs, and in particular one last summer, I asked Cabinet member Councillor Canver what more the Council plan to do to deal with the threatened increase in HMOs in Harringay.
Her response, at a meeting held in the Civic Centre last August was that the plan was to organise a meeting with residents in October so we can together find a solution to the HMO issue. The planning team would also continue to 'review the situation' with Article 4. In the meantime, Mr Dorfman, Assistant Director of Planning, will be focussing his approach on the additional licensing scheme.
The meeting with residents was held on November 16th.
So far we've had no feedback at all. So I wrote to Councillor Canver this morining saying "I'd be interested to know what progress was made at the HMO event and where the Council now stands on the HMO issue."
I'm grateful for the councillor's useful and speedy reply and share it here as a proxy for more formal feedback:
In a nut shell; the conference report is being produced, we're writing to Eric Pickles to ask for more resources, I'm working on getting a date in Jan / Feb where Members can debate the issue and decide about what further planning and licensing actions to take.
Let's hope we see some action coming out of this.
