Yes, your chance to nose around a bit of the neighbourhood you might not have been to. This event which is billed as a tour in the London Festival of Architecture programme, may be accompanied by some Berkley Homes and Hackney Council spin, but it promises to be interesting.
Below is the official blurb from architecture.org.
Date: 09 June 18:30 - 20:00
Organised By: The Berkeley Group
Woodberry Down
N4 2BA
Berkeley Group is sponsoring the London Festival of Architecture again this June. As part of the programme, we are hosting a visit to Woodberry Down, one of the biggest estate regeneration programmes in Britain. This will create 5,500 new homes over 20 years, including 41% affordable, alongside a complete mix of community facilities. Join us to view the first phases of new development. Discuss with Fletcher Priest Architects and social entrepreneur Simon Donovan how the community is evolving after six years on site. Hear from Berkeley and Hackney Council about how you make public/private partnerships work. Or just enjoy the feel of a place rejuvenated beside a beautiful reservoir.
Free Entry, Booking essential.

Thank you Hugh for this local development info. i admit to not knowing this part of London which is only 10 MINUTES AWAY from where i live even though I know the 'warehouse' area now! And yes I am curious and have sent a booking request.
To be fair, I didn't call it a "beautiful reservoir", it was in the section of my post I clearly distanced myself from by labelling it as 'official blurb'.
I haven't been down to that section of the river for a while, perhaps because, as you say, the last time I went there it wasn't much of a pleasure. There used to be glorious trees along the bank between Woodberry Down and the water. These have been 'landscaped out', as part of the development, I assume to give the waterfront appartments their money's worth. Here's how I remember it four years back it before all the work.
