After being acquired by Distinct Pubs in November last year the Three Compasses on Hornsey High Street has been closed since January. During the ensuing months it's been getting a £5 million makeover.
As well as a new look, the new owners aim to up the food standard to the same standard as at the company’s well-regarded other pubs - The Prince Albert in Camden Town and The Adam & Eve in Mill Hill. Both offer mains for between £9 and £20.
After an invite only soft opening tomorrow, the pub will throw its doors open again on Thursday at 4PM.

Could be a good place! I wonder if they'll keep the pool table?
No, sadly not. I remember when pubs used to be pubs and not restaurants! Good days!
Any ideas for a pub with pool table? NOT the Hornsey Tavern. There is the Bird in Hand on Tottenhall but while its passable, its not great.
They are getting few and far between. Hope and Anchor, Tottenham Lane?
Any others anyone?
Going to miss the Three Compasses, used to have really good beer (not many pubs seem to know how to keep beer anymore), great staff and a pool table.
On a positive note it looks like they've made a good job of the refurb, let's hope they pay the same attention to how they keep and serve the beer (...other drinks are available!).
Also it comes complete with Secret DJ so you can choose the tunes that play in the pub via your phone - maybe its time for a HOL jukebox!
I have a horrible feeling I stopped using the Compasses in about 1962 cos it was a Watneys Red Barrel pub? Anyone remember?
