Piggy-Back Swan

Walking along the New River near Hornsey this afternoon, I heard an extraordinary kerfuffle. Looking round, I saw that a large swan was chasing away any canada geese that dared stay in its path as it processed up the river. A little further behind bossy swan was another swan. When I looked more cloesley at what was apparently Mama Swan, I realised what was getting Mr Swan so agitated; he was being a protective daddy.
