HoL & Local Elections 2010

On May 6th this year we have the next local elections.

In the past local elections have passed me by somewhat; I've voted if I've had the time, but not been that bothered if I've missed it.

And that's wrong. The elections give us all a real chance to influence what happens outside our front door, in our high street at in the local schools and so on. None of us should be blase about them.

So this time round we're going to try and use HoL to get behind the local issues and understand what the local candidates plan to do about them.

The HoL group has been discussing what we can do on and off since last autumn. We now have an approach which we'll share with you over the coming weeks.

The first teensy-weensy step has been to set up a new page of stuff we're starting to do about the election.

You'll be hearing more from HoL group members soon. (And remember the HoL group isn't a cosy clique of local pals. Any one's welcome; pretty much all the members didn't know each other until recently through HoL)
