Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Multiple Olympic decathlon gold medal winner, Daley Thompson, has been named as the last Torchbearer of the day when the Torch Relay comes to Haringey on July 25th.

Thompson will run the final leg into the Evening Celebration and light the celebration cauldron on the stage. He holds more decathlon honours than anyone else and was the first person ever to hold the World, Olympic, Commonwealth and European titles at the same time, as well as the World Record. Thompson, who trained alongside Seb Coe at the Haringey Athletics Club, was unbeaten in competition for nine years.

Altogether, around 22 Torchbearers, will run in Haringey during the Torch Relay. Each runner is due to run about 300 metres. If that's evenly split, Daley will only run within the grounds of Ally Pally.

At Ally Pally, those with tickets for the Evening Celebration will see a host of entertainment at  from 4pm to 7pm.
