Bogus aerial company callers

My ward colleague Cllr Lorna Reith has passed on an alert about bogus callers claiming to be from a TV aerial company.

Two men wearing high visibility jackets - but no uniform - use a bolt cutter to cut the outside aerial cable. They then knock on a resident’s door to try and gain access by showing a letter apparently stating they are from an aerial company.

The advice is to call the police immediately on 999 if you witness any suspicious activity. And, plainly, don't let anyone in who you don’t know or can't provide photo ID from the company they claim to represent.
