Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I've just noticed that the relatively new shop near Tesco Express on Green Lanes links itself to the Human  Relief Foundation and about two dozen other charities. Does anyone know the HRF? Web address appears to be hrf.org.uk. I haven't had a chance to check it out yet.

It's one of a number of Muslim or Islamic charities, founded during the first Gulf War and works in Iraq, Syria, Palestinian Territories, Horn of Africa, Somalia . . .  UK based, grew from a local base in Bradford. Subscribes to ground rules of both Red Crescent and Red Cross.  Not sure whether the other charities mentioned are under the wider Muslim Aid umbrella.

Here's a bad pun I've been saving up.

Anyone curious about begs from a particular askit can search the Charity Commission website - for free. A search today shows Human Relief Foundation is a properly registered charity and have lodged accounts and returns.

As OAE mentions they have an informative website. And also a Wikipedia page.

Thanks chaps - I was writing on the hop, on my way past and thought it worth writing both just to check things were kosher and if so to alert people to the existence of this newish local charity shop.
