Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

We've been going to Taksim for a few months now for what is my favourite baklava on Green Lanes. We've gradually started snacking on gozleme and the like. Today we had a full meal. Huge portions and something of a home-cooked feel. Thoroughly enjoyable and we're always made to feel welcome by the two Alis who own the joint and the delightful waitress Naz.

So if you've walked past Taksim in the past, stop next time and drop-in and give it a whirl.

To show your contrition both of you, go visit Taksim!

We dropped in for a meal tonight - first time we've been in the evening and we felt like we'd had a home cooked meal. Both the place and the food have that cosy non-commercial feel about them.

Went with a friend tonight. Lovely, cosy room at the back. Great meze of delicious salads. I could really taste the Sumac and turkish pepper which I love in liberal amounts. The aubergine dip was delicious too. Our lamb and chicken shish came with heaps of salads and a mushroom and onion side dish. A refreshing change from the bigger Turkish restaurants. We had great service and lots of space and time to chat. Will definitely go back.

I had this chicken escalope salad today for a wallet-loving £4.50 and have to say really enjoyed it.
