Spotted this week, sparrow hawk fledglings in the tall trees in the middle at the back of the site. You'll probably hear them before you see them!

these are pigeon "fanciers" !

I've seen one or two sparrow hawks up here in Yorkshire and wish we had more.  We are plagued by pigeons.

OH, how beautiful. But we must try and keep our newest sparrow fledgling safe - a rare blonde one

I saw it in the Fields this afternoon with a hapless rodent in its claws; it landed on a wall/hedge and stayed for a few seconds.  I'm not sure what the rodent was, possibly a dormouse as it had a very fluffy tail, but the fluff was white and it looked bigger than I would expect, so it could have been an edible dormouse, as there are some in SE England.  Sorry no pic.
