Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi all,

I recently moved into my flat in Harringay and I have been working hard on making it a home. I have been able to update a lot on my own but there are a couple of jobs I don't have the experience to do such as installing a TV bracket over one fireplace and also hanging up a really heavy mirror over another fireplace

I am looking for someone who can come and either help me with these jobs or advise me on the best way of getting it done. Its my first property so I am accumulating a lot of DIY tools as I go along. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They're both pretty doable as DIY but the difficulty depends on what the wall is made of. If the wall is solid (and if it's a chimney breast then there's a pretty good chance of it being brick) then all you really need is some decent plugs (and a drill obviously) for mounting a tv or mirror.

If the wall is hollow (you should be able to tell by knocking on it) then it's trickier but still doable. These are good for instance https://www.gripitfixings.co.uk/ with plenty of instructions available

Thanks Andrew. I managed to get the TV Bracket up after buying a decent drill and bigger screws. It's given me the confidence to try the mirror too. Thanks for your advice

Thanks Deric, he looks like he's done a good job. I'll attempt the mirror myself first and if I can't do it, i'll give him a call.

Thanks for responding
