Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

The barbers on Green Lanes are very often ignoring the rules by not wearing basic PPE - masks at very least.

We are in the midst of a pandemic and many beauty professionals have been forced out of work because the government prevented them from opening for months.

Out of respect for the current regulations and basic customer care, can ALL THE BARBERS AND HAIRDRESSERS IN THE AREA PLEASE PUT THEIR MASKS ON. And preferably a face shield as well.

thank you

This is a continuing problem. I agree with you about this. However, it is something that is cropping up multiple times on HoL. Previously, people contacted Haringey and there was a noticeable shift in PPE observation. Unfortunately this only lasts a fleeting time and the barbers/hairdressers return to working without masks/shields. I wonder if it is a cost thing or whether they are just not prepared to consider that they might be infectious/a Covid carrier?
Either way, I think the only thing to do is to go elsewhere. I cut my husband's hair this week and I myself went to Shine in Church Street to get my haircut. It cost double the local price, but was extremely Covid Secure. The contrast could not be more stark.
There are 1 or 2 barbers that are following the rules and they are getting my business.

And what about the shop owners and workers. So few of them wearing masks and social distancing hard to do in some of these shops.
