Based at 7 Wordsworth Parade (Just about opposite the Queens Head).

See this photo for more on the history of the shop and its association with Claud Butler.

This purple vision is what the shop looks like today.

Actually, comparing this old photo with Google maps, it can't have been in the Plovdiv premises; the recessed doorway is on the wrong side. Then I noticed that the blue shop to the right of Plovdiv also has 7 on it's door. I think this must be the real number 78 since you can see both no.s 5 and 10 marked. Wonder why on earth Plovdiv took 7 instead of 8?

Bought a lot of bike bits here in the 50s and 60s - plus a s/h Claude Butler frame for a re-build!

Bought first new road bike from George in April '55, used it for everything, t.t's, touring, clubruns, won first road race in '59 on it. Was member of Priory Wheelers then Highgate CC.When George moved to Bristol, Dave Davey, formerly with Claud Butler, took over shop.
