Comment by Gerry N on November 12, 2021 at 0:30: Are the present Cafe & Jamie Supermarket anything to do with these former station buildings ? did the line run under this actual building, or just to the north of it ?

Comment by John Leeming on November 12, 2021 at 9:58: The original station building was demolished some years ago, and replaced by those strange decorative brick structures, which are just to the south of the café, right at the brow of the hill. The line ran directly under those structures. Here is a photo I took of the remains of the station in 1965, showing the original station building perched over the lien at the far end of the platforms.
