Where was/is this reservoir?

At the south eastern edge of Alexandra Park. You can see it in the maps on this post

At least the reservoirs had water back then. And all the wildlife that went with it. Now mostly gone or drained. Very sad

I think the reservoir is still full and in use but the filter beds are empty and under threat of development. I posted about this in 2018. But, yes it does seem to have disrupted the wildlife already. We used to be under the flight path of the geese headed over there. But a few years ago the regular honking of geese flying over ceased altogether. I assume it was due to developments at the reservoir.

I remember back in the 1970's using a footpath that started in Western Rd near the swimming baths and finished in Cross Lane off Hornsey High St that went right passed these reservoirs. There was also an alternative path that took you to the old racecourse at Alexandra Palace where at that time there was cricket matches played. Is this footpath network still open today ?

Yes, the path is still there Tony.
