Really good comaprison.. well done!
How do manage to find the correct position to get the shot? Is there a trick? I often try, but never get it exactly right. Do you always take a photo with you?

Thanks, Steve. So far, I have never taken a photo with me - which sometimes means it takes more than one attempt (not a problem as most of them are taken on the way to a tube or railway station)! The above though was a single go - my thinking was that I needed to be standing on the kerb looking down Green Lanes at a position where the 'typewriter shop' was just visible on the left (as I thought that was the shop in the old photo). As it turned out, the leftmost shop in the photo is actually now 'Plovdiv' rather than the typewriter shop but that is easily corrected by cropping.
The difficult ones are where there are few reference points or where the reference points have moved eg. this and this. Sometimes a bus stop or advertising hoarding now gets in the way also (anyway that is my excuse if the angle is wrong...).

That's impressive if you're taking the comparator shots from memory.
