Hear hear Pavlos. The Kurds are one of the most oppressed groups in the Near East and so many live here - I totally support their right to demonstrate peacefully.
Yes it happened on the 15th after the Turkey v Czech Rep match, my flatmate was caught in the middle of it. It's the Kurds who are causing the voilence. And it will happen again as you say, next Wed
few years ago there was a fascinating documentary on how the RAF spent some of the period between WW1 & WW2 bombing rebellious Kurds who were unhappy at not getting a nation, including interviews with some of the pilots. Haven't got a link for the documentary, but there is some discussion here.…
on thinks could take on IS don't exist under one general but, are instead dozens of different loose groups with their own agendas & battles. They're probably not particularly interested in taking on IS.
On another angle to this debate I saw an analysis of the so-called sustained bombing of IS by the 'coalition' (which apparently numbers some 65 countries doing different things) which showed there are about 2 'sorties' per hour against IS. This was compared to other wars which largely showed round the clock bombing. I'm not even sure anyone is serious about taking on IS, except of course (as you mention) the Kurds. The Americans have however announced another unit of Special Forces will be targeting IS in Iraq & Syria.…
attacked in1950s, Cyprus invaded in 1960s. Peaceful (mainly Kurdish) Syrian Afrin province invaded from Turkey last year by jihadi mercenaries doing sultan Erdogan's dirty work. PKK exists to defend Kurds against Turkish nationalist and Islamic fascism promoted by Erdogan. They use the Kurds as an enemy just like Hitler used the jews. You say terrorist, we say liberator. Most Turks settled in the UK are glad to get away from it, so why are you stirring it up? Instead of worry about graffiti, why don't you concern yourself with the fact that the Turkish state imprisons more journalists than any other country? Lastly why not keep international political issues out of Harringay online.…
