Hello Sarah.........stab in the dark here but I wonder if you had a relative by the name of Ted (Edward ?) ?
He was a teacher at South Grove Secondary Modern School which was off St Annes Road, Seven Sisters end. I attended there 1960 - 64 and I suppose he would have been 40'ish at that time.
