A quick update. I just received this reply:

There has been some delay in progressing the reversal of flows in Warham Road due to internal resourcing issues. Nevertheless, the proposal is planned to take place this year and residents will be consulted once a design have been finalised.

If Haringey aren't towing this car there's a serious issue. When I first moved to St Ann's I got confused by the resident/business parking (both have the same permit code) and my motor was towed within the hour.

Some folk have no intention of ever paying any parking fine for a variety of reasons, mostly not available to most of the rest of us. Usually the only way such folk can be made to pay is if the car is impounded. But here, the fact that the line isn't continuous probably means they might be able to successfully appeal. But I'm not a lawyer.

Where as these guys clearly parked knowing there were double yellows there. The nearest car looks lie it pretty much has its driver side wheels off the road and actually on the curb. By any standard that is pretty impressively cheeky.

The problem with ticketing these cars I think is the gap you see in the lines between the 3rd and 4th vehicle where a car has clearly been parked when lines were being laid down. I believe this would actually make the whole stretch unenforceable.

It looks like the same one- did you mention this earlier (not sure I saw it if you did).

I think this is a tricky situation for everyone, including those who live and need to park on Wightman.

Undoubtedly, there will need to be some bedding in, and some (sensibly sympathetic) engagement to make sure those parking are aware of the new regime. That said, yellow lines is yellow lines, and they are pretty obviously bright and shiny, and no less applicable- so to a degree ignorance…

Undoubtedly, there will need to be some bedding in, and some (sensibly sympathetic) engagement to make sure those parking are aware of the new regime. That said, yellow lines is yellow lines, and they are pretty obviously bright and shiny, and no less applicable- so to a degree ignorance should not be an excuse.

It is not helpful that you still have a situation in some places that you can clearly see in your image Laura with gaps in the lines- as this will add confusions, allow people to game the new system and reduce the legality of enforcement against anyone parking on that stretch to pretty much zero I believe.

I have suggested to Haringey some enforcement would be helpful, as the vehicle you and I flag here has been there (at the point of my image at least) for 24 house and I don't see a ticket on it, or a friendly note in the first instance explaining the new regime with a big 'shift it' notice... I would not discount that it may have been there for days and the new paint lines delineating the new box has been added while the vehicle was in situ and the driver has not been back to it for a few days.
Hi Hugh, Thanks for your apol…tag:harringayonline.com,2019-07-16:844301:Comment:11813942019-07-16T22:38:45.039ZPathttps://harringayonline.com/profile/PatWallace

Hi Hugh, Thanks for your apology and I apologise for my misinterpreted reading of that statement.

The car has been there for a few weeks and ticketed every day, I don't know how many strikes you get before it is removed. I really don't pay that much attention to the car but this morning I did think that it was extremely close to the gate and the wall.

Hi Pat. Please be assured that I had absolutely no intention of relating any particular car to a particular house. These days it's very rare that we can park directly in front of our house. I used 'outside my house' in a more general sense. I hadn't even considered the interpretation you've made of what I said. However, your having raised it, I can see why you read it the way you did and why you might take offence. So please accept my apologies for any distress you've experienced as…

So please accept my apologies for any distress you've experienced as a result of this misunderstanding. Would you like me to reword what I wrote to avoid any further misunderstanding?

It seems very odd that the car is being repeatedly ticketed and yet they continue to repeat the offence. How long has this charade been going on?
I agree with you Ben, I think…tag:harringayonline.com,2019-07-16:844301:Comment:11812952019-07-16T21:34:01.640ZPathttps://harringayonline.com/profile/PatWallace

I agree with you Ben, I think Hugh could have used different wording. Every morning without fail the car is there parked up on the pavement , The traffic enforcer puts a ticket on everyday but The driver just doesn't seem to care about the penalties.

I don't think anyone was judging you. I certainly wasn't. The very fact its parked outside your house and blocking your entrance only goes to prove how selfish they are.

I suppose it's worth a try: "The roadside itself is now painted double yellow so I assumed I needed to park entirely on the pavement, your honour"
