Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

The West Green Road/Seven Sisters Development Trust is holding a public presentation of the Wards Corner community plan on Wednesday 4 August 6:30-8pm on Zoom.

The Trust say

The community plan will restore and bring back into full use the locally-listed Wards building in Seven Sisters, Tottenham. It aims to create a new gateway to Tottenham, reinvigorate the high street and provide a new home for Seven Sisters Market, low-cost office and community space. Income received from renting trading and community space will generate a surplus for reinvesting in local community and enterprise activities and kickstarting other projects, driving further rounds of community economic development in Tottenham.

The community plan is the product of around 15 years of community organising, involving a broad coalition of market traders, local businesses and local residents. It received planning permission from Haringey Council in 2014 and again in 2019, when it received support from 291 and 443 people respectively. With Grainger in the process of withdrawing from the Wards Corner site, it is critical that we now move quickly to deliver the long awaited community plan.

This meeting will provide an opportunity for all to take a fresh look at the plan, to ask questions and to get involved. The meeting is open to everyone, whether market trader, local business, local resident, supporter or anyone else who wishes to attend. We also have a Facebook event here, if you want to share it with other people you know, or you can share this email.
