Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Grand Parade Hotel?
Anyone heard of/used this charming "studio hotel" at 45 Grand Parade, as advertised on Pictures of England.com (Exploring the most Picturesque & Historic parts of England).
Looks quite nice, it also has a website
Oh wait, collect your keys from 657 Green lanes, N8 OQY which is our old friend Athena Palace

Yes true. I just had a look and discovered they'd need to be within use class C1 to operate as a hotel. There's been a lot of speculation on this hotel over the years, so I had a quick look on Haringey's planning site to confirm the position. They have tried to change use to C1 twice, and have had applications refused in 2009 and again in 2010, so yep, no valid planning consent to operate as hotel.
Interestingly both change of use applications state that the change of use has not already started: strange as Tripadvisor reviews date back to 2008...

If he was growing pot he'd be dead meat but nobody seems to care about abuse of planning laws in Haringey.
