Anyone else had this one? Got an automated call on landline, says it's BT and there has been suspicious activity so they are cutting off phone and internet. I hung up at the point and unplugged socket connection.

Would be interested to hear back. Of course, if it is not a scam and I'll be cut off I won't be able to read your responses!

I was lucky as he didn't punch me or hurt me: just took the phone and carried on riding on the footpath, the wrong way up Beresford Rd on the south side of the road.

Many of the motorists who came down Beresford in the minutes following noticed him - it's hard not to notice a motorcyclist at great speed riding not just illegally but dangerously the wrong way down a one way street. I was too distraught to notice much about his appearance, beyond dark clothes, dark gloves, helmet and a mostly black motorcycle. So if anyone witnessed him, or saw what he did when he got up to Wightman (or perhaps went down the passage), or more importantly what he did before he came up and mugged me, I would be grateful if you would post it here or send it to me in a private message. If you were waiting for a bus just outside Blend around 9.25-9.30am, you would have seen him.

They think he may have done a similar mugging shortly afterwards in Islington.

I am resigned to the loss of the phone, but am so very sad about the photos and videos I had on the phone that hadn't been downloaded since my most recent backup. Most of all I am grieving for some recent audio recordings of my kids, including one of my little boy making a birthday card for his dad which was lovely and which breaks my heart now that it is lost :(

So the community service announcement is to please go away and backup everything on your phone that is precious - photos & videos of the people you love - and especially the files stored on apps that aren't backed up as part of the regular iCloud backup, or whatever other auto-backup system you have. You can replace the phone, but you can't replace those.
Nick Clegg as PM ?tag:harringayonline.com,2011-07-18:844301:Topic:2654622011-07-18T13:59:30.706Zmatthttps://harringayonline.com/profile/mburge

Tomorrow we have the select committee hearing and Wednesday Cameron cuts short his trip to Africa to attend another debate surrounding associations and fallout from this hacking scandal.

The heat appears not to have been taken out of this scandal by the above mentioned resignations. In deed it appears that pressure is increasing on Cameron to justify his associations with Coulson and his 26 meetings held over the last 18 months with NI executives.

Borris has just explained at a news conference this afternoon that the Met Commissioner and his AC have had to go because of distractions getting in the way of doing their job (such as questions surrounding their associations with the ex- deputy NOTW editor, later hired as a PR man by the Met and other circumstances).

Is Cameron's association with Coulson and News International beginning to hamper his efforts to get on with the job of running the country? Will he end up resigning as PM?

If so, could we see Nick Clegg as the next Prime Minister?

Someone on this site very kindly gave me a AT & T sim card with $15 credit on it a few months ago. I've since been to and from the states a couple of times topped it up and have come home with $10 credit which will expire in about 21 days time. If anyone is visiting the US and would like to use up the remaining credit please send me a PM and we can arrange a handover. The sim is only good for the continental US calls and messaging and will not work for overseas calls or in Canada.
