A very pretty long haired tortoiseshell cat has been hanging around one of the top ladder roads the past few days. It looks like (until recently) a well taken care of house cat, but has no collar, and it looks like it has been in a recent fight. It has a scratch on one side and a slightly squinty eye and is quite skittish. I created a post about this earlier today on the Facebook page of the Crouch End Appreciation Society. Anyone recognise this cat?

They aren't currently consulting on Sunday services (it would be great to have more than one train per hour from Finsbury Park to Blackfriars & Brighton on a Sunday!), apparently this comes later.

Poo Problem in Harringay Passage - An idea to change behaviourtag:harringayonline.com,2020-09-28:844301:Topic:12945672020-09-28T11:56:41.916ZRemy Wasylukhttps://harringayonline.com/profile/RemyWasyluk

Further to the post last week about making the passage a greener space for us all to enjoy, I am increasingly seeing a dog (sometimes human) poo problem in the passage. No doubt this has been addressed previously, but I am keen to look at new initiatives to highlight the issue and hopefully change the behaviour of ignorant dog owners.

I am prepared to create some posters (see attached) that I will post at the entrance to the alleyway(s) from Allison Road to Pemberton Road. This is the route I walk my kids to school at 7:50 each morning. I will arm myself with some chalk based yellow spray paint and will make a point of highlighting the mess each morning. My hope is that the yellow posters and yellow highlighted mess can lead to a positive change in behaviour. Should this work we could roll it out to the wider area of the passage.

I am keen to hear the groups thoughts on this and perhaps whether my ideas could play into a wider initiative which is already being considered.

There is a lovely bright double room available in my Harringay flat, from 1 July! At £460 per month (bills not included), it is a real bargain.
Harringay was in the middle of London's Trolleybusland. Originally served by more tram routes than buses, by the 1950s there were four Trolleybus routes along Green Lanes, 521/621 to Holborn, 641 to Moorgate and the 629 to Tottenham Court Road.

In fact Manor House junction was the busiest trolleybus junction in London and perhaps the world even? There were more trolleybus movements across the junction in the evening peak hour than anywhere else.

In fact Manor House junction was the busiest trolleybus junction in London and perhaps the world even? There were more trolleybus movements across the junction in the evening peak hour than anywhere else.

The East Anglia Transport Museum has London Transport Trolleybuses in its collection, as well as a London HR/2 (Hilly Routes type 2) Tram, amongst others from around the country and is well worth a visit.

A Leyland L3 trolleybus, 1521 seen at Wood Green, about to work down through Harringay on its way to Holborn. It has a matching number plate to the route number. The 521/621 worked anti & clockwise around the King's Cross to Holborn loop. They were replaced in November 1961 by routes 168/221 in Harringay. The 168 is now long gone, but the 221 still survives, although now cut back to Turnpike Lane.

Trolleybus 1521 survived the withdrawal of the 521/621 routes and was transferred on from Finchley (FY) depot to Fulwell (FW) depot, where it worked out the last months of trolleybus operation in London, actually becoming London's Last Trolleybus on 8th May 1962.

Another local 'Harringay' trolleybus was Leyland K3 1253, which originally was allocated to Clapton (CT) depot, but was transferred to Wood Green (WN) in 1959 and was often seen after that on routes 629 & 641 along Green Lanes. It is now preserved by the London Transport Museum, but not always on show - being often stored at the Acton Depot Site, which is open next on 13th/14th July 2019. https://www.ltmuseum.co.uk/whats-on/open-weekends

1521 now resides at the East Anglia Museum - A ride on a Harringay trolleybus is still possible. If you've never ridden on a London Trolleybus or first generation Tram, then the East Anglia Transport Museum is worth a visit.
Hi!

I was exiting my house yesterday and left a Black case outside my front door and in the 2 minutes we went back in it was stolen from our front yard.

I suspect it will get dumped fairly quickly as it is full of makeup items - I was on my way to work ( as a makeup artist) and it is my livelihood.

We live up near the Salisbury pub, so if anyone in the are finds a dumped case full of cosmetics, please let me know.

thank you! Tahira 07940016252
