Our Yin Yoga classes consists of a series of long-held, passive (still) and seated floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body—the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine. These areas are especially rich in connective tissues. If our connective tissue and muscles are not stimulated, it can become hard and this can lead to stiffness and staggered energy flow. Unlike vinyasa based yoga, Yin yoga postures - asanas - are held for longer periods of time—for beginners, it may range from 45 seconds to two minutes; more advanced practitioners may stay in one asana for five minutes or more.
As you lie to rest in your final savasna after the yoga practice you will be guided on a musical journey by crystal singing bowls. The gentle sound vibrations will tickle your qi and release any last stagnated energy. Each bowl resonates and awake with one of your chakras. Leave feeling nourished and relaxed.
