Led by member of the London Wildlife Trust's Woodberry Wetlands’ team tours will meet in front of Lizzy’s at the Coal House Cafe and will take approximately 1 hour.
Tours start at 10:00 / 12:00 / 14:00 on both days.
No booking necessary.
Before you visit, learn how Woodberry Down got its name.
I'm pleased that the Wildlife Trust have been working on this project but I have been avoiding the area ever since my Dad died and I no longer needed to visit the estate ... don't know which was worse, seeing my derelict former school or the giant photographic billboards to tempt overseas buyers, while tenants lived for years through plans for redevelopment that didn't include them
Just in case I change my mind, where is Lizzy's or the Coal House? where the shops used to be??
If it's what David Mooney showed me a year or so ago, Lizzy's or the Coal House is the old building right up by the east reservoir, on the west bank.
Lizzy's at the Coal House is in the building you see to your left as you head south down Lordship road, between the two reservoirs but beside the East one. It's apparently got a roof terrace. It's being run by the people who run Lizzy's on the Green on Newington Green - they have some photos displayed there.
Thanks.
