In collaboration with Bristol based Green Up Your Act, we are running a one day workshop bringing environmental issues to life through stimulating discussions, and creative hands on workshops with a central focus on conscious consumption.
Thriving on constant change, fast fashion instills a notion that clothes should be cheap, and the only way to make this happen is to have the fabric and clothes made in countries where wages and regulations can be kept to a minimum.
Fast fashion has caused a dramatic increase in the environmental damage caused by the textile industry during the recent past, and this problem will certainly continue into the future unless an change is made in the minds and attitudes of consumers.
Participants of the workshop are encouraged to bring in an old or unloved T-shirt, which can then be up-cycled and taken home to use. Spare T-shirts will be brought in on the day for those who forget or can’t find one to up-cycle.
£3.50 for per person, the price includes a t-shirt to up-cycle.
