Aged 11 - 18 and interested in democracy?
TheYoung Haringey project hosted by the Smart School Councils Community (A charity based locally) is a great opportunity for secondary school and sixth form students to develop skills in community-mapping, identifying issues, presenting ideas and voting on key priorities for the planning group and youth council to take forward.
At the event you can develop your speaking and listening skills, team-work and collaboration by working with other young people. You will learn skills in project management, presenting and running meetings.
We will also be hosting two massive events in the new year which will include children across the borough. More details on the website.
I'm currently a secondary school student attending the course which I certainly recommend to other local young people as it is a fantastic opportunity to put your ideas in action and is also very enjoyable!
If you know anyone in this age group who may be interested, please pass this invitation on to them..
For more details, please contact the event coordinators, Asher and Greg by email at: greg@smartschoolcouncils.org.uk or asher@involver.org.uk.
They can also be tweeted to SSCCTY
