We can be kept entertained for hours by the television today, with its many channels, and there are still cinemas around within easy reach.
But probably it is live theatre that leaves us with the best memories of a night out or a matinee afternoon. It could be the theatres in the West End or local theatres where we remember some of our best occasions, whether musicals or farces, Shakespeare or comedies, and of course the annual treat at the pantomime.
Let’s not forget local amateur dramatics as well, either as part of the group or in the audience. Do you have any programmes from special theatre outings, or autographs from the cast? Did you even get a chance to meet a star or two?
