Do join us on Sunday 21 October for the last of the three walks along the New River organised for 2012 by John Polley.
This walk covers the attractive, rural, northern half of the New River, from Enfield north to Hertford.
Details are at http://www.newriver.org.uk, along with estimated timings of the walk.
This is a linear 15 mile level walk along the New River Path, starting 10 am, finishing approx 5.30 pm.
The walk will be at an easy pace, through both urban and rural areas & in open countryside alongside the picturesque New River. Lunch will be at Broxbourne, either your own packed, or cafe purchased. Hopefully, we will be able to enjoy afternoon tea & home made cakes at the lovely church in Great Amwell, with a stop at the Old Barge riverside pub on the River Lea in Hertford at the end!
Meet on the New River bridge outside the Crown & Horseshoes pub in Enfield Town from 9:45am. Cars can be left at Enfield. Trains easily take you back to Enfield from stations at various points on the walk north of the Broxbourne lunch stop.

Getting to the start of the walk at the Crown and Horseshoes from north London: With the rail lines following roughly the same corridor as the New River, the train is often the easiest way to get to and from points along the New River. Some more details of stations and trains are at http://www.newriver.org.uk.

Bob
