 nd singing around ‘Max’ the Wassail tree with members of the Totte

 he Hub for warming refreshments, singing (with Hackney Songworks), sto
 rytelling & spoken word poetry by Abe Gibson, followed by live music.

 ees, soft fruit bushes, hedgerows, wildflowers and grasses. The main a
 rea is in the South East corner next to Freedom Road and Higham Road A
 llotments, with two further areas in the North West Corner of the Rec.
  This area was also planted with over 200 native trees and shrubs in 2
 017/18. The conservation and maintenance work that is undertaken in th
 e orchard is determined by the long-term aim to increase biodiversity.
  Volunteering sessions are held on the first Saturday of each month, 1
 0am -1pm. We also hold ad hoc sessions during the week depending on wh
