Event Description

Inspired by many great jazz groups of the past, Drummer Adam Osmianski presents a classic organ trio playing both original material and standards built on spontaneity, energy, and instinct. Osmianski brings together some of todays finest jazz musicians who are particularly at home in the organ trio setting...

Adam Osmianski - Drums
Artie Zaitz - Guitar

Artie is rapidly making a name for himeself as on of the UK's top jazz guitarists. Coming from a family of musicians Artie was exposed to the sounds of jazz from an early age. He studied classical guitar with Prof. David Parsons, and later went on to study jazz piano with Andrea Vicari as well as jazz guitar with David Okumu. He developed particular interest in recordings from the Blue Note label which had a profound influence on the current material he performs with his quartet. Artie is inspired by artists such as Grachan Moncur III, Grant Green, Kenny Burrell, Wayne Shorter along with Miles Davis, John Scofield and John Coltrane (to name a few). Artie also has recording experience, starting with the release of Earl Green’s “One Way” (Snakestone Records 2008), which features tenor giant, former James Brown MD “Pee Wee” Ellis and Queen Bee’s “Stranger” (Snakestone Records 2008), where he arranged the horn section and strings. Also, he regularly organizes recording jazz sessions with various lineups and is a regular feature on the London Jazz scene.

Mike Gorman - Organ
Mike Gorman was born in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. After completing a Music Degree at University College Salford, he gained experience working on the thriving Manchester music scene. Mike moved to London in 1995, to attend the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where he gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Jazz and Studio Music. Since then he has established himself as one of the UK's leading jazz pianists, making regular appearances with many of the country's leading jazz musicians in London and throughout the UK.

He has also worked with several prominent US musicians, as well as touring with major international acts Incognito and Us3. Current ongoing projects/bands include The Mike Gorman Trio, The Paul Booth Quartet, Improphonics, The Jamie O'Donnell Quintet, The Bob Martin Quintet, Alex Garnett's Pow Wow, Orixa, The Richard Bolton Band, The Kick Horns, The Adam Phillips Band, and Us3.
