How to keep your teenager(s) safe is a Haringey Thinking Space Online special event for `Parents of Teenagers'. The event on the 10th June will be facilitated by Dr Jasmine Chin. This event has been requested by the parents who participate in our bi-weekly meetings on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, 10.30am – 12.30pm and 4th Wednesday of the month 6.30pm-8.30pm. The 10th June event aims to provide an opportunity for parents to share experiences and think about how they might best respond to the challenges they face.
Adolescence is one of the most difficult periods of parenting and it is a time when risks are taken and when mental health difficulties develop or become apparent. In the current context of Covid-19, when families are more isolated and under greater stress, the need for family support is probably greater.
We also provide a space for Teenagers. Thinking Space Online for Teenagers is facilitated every Thursday 4pm-6pm by trained Tavistock staff to provide a safe and supportive therapeutic space for young people age 13 – 18, where they can talk about and get support with any difficulties or challenges that they are experiencing. Thinking Space provides an environment where all young people who attend will be listened to and all present, both staff and young people, can think about what might help the young person resolve their difficulty.
There are 2 Thinking Spaces: 1 for 13 -15 year olds and one for 16 -18 year olds.
