Description of the performance from the organisers
Intertwining the natural environment with a mythical one; fantastical instruments sound and a giant birdcage floats aloft, as ribbons and colour burst from the sky. In this time before time A Bedtime Story Collective explore the origins of movement, rhythm and reality in the magical unfolding of a creation myth. In a developing dialogue of improvised, expressive movement and live human soundscapes, this project makes a playful enquiry into creation and origins that celebrates the dying cultures of myth and storytelling to promote the physical body and the natural environment as a means to entertain, motivate and unify. It reminds us perhaps what is important, that we all have a body and a voice and a story to tell.
