Would it be okay to come along to this with my four year old? I think she may be interested in the bean sprouting. We're new to the area and keen to explore. But if its not really a children thing, just let me know! thanks

Yes, other people are bringing kids - my 5 and 8 year old will be there and my friend Tanya with her 7 and 4 year olds (they are just coming for the fire bit and soup). We're going to meet in the cafe and then all head down to the plant nursery. Some people can stay in the cafe if they'd prefer, or aren't interested in the wood chopping and fire buidling.

Thanks Jo. I haven't been to the park yet so I don't know exactly where the cafe is- can you give me any pointers? I can't seem to find a map of the park?

Hopefully see you tomorrow

the cafe is in the centre of the park, at the top of the hill. There's a children's playground and a boating lake right next to it - can't mis it!

For future reference, here's a map.

here's a better one! http://transitionfinsburypark.org.uk/sites/transitionfinsburypark.o... - though it's a map of where the plant nursey is. It was awesome today. Chainsaw and hand tools for splitting up the wood ... 2 soups and acorn / pine nut pate ... loads of kids and good conversations about plant proteins, sprouting beans and detoxifying foods. Have just finished scrubbing my pots clean! Will probably do it in the plant nursery again (with a bonfire) for the bird box building on 19th April. Next Crafternoon tea is billed as electrical stuff (on 22nd Jan) but I am going to add in badge making. Hope to see you then.

That map will be very handy! I spoke to someone very friendly in the cafe today but couldn't find the bonfire, no maps in the park seemed to show the plant nurserynursery... My fault though, new to the park and easily confused. Plus, we spent a little while playing in the playground so it was dusk by the time we started looking. Will try and pop along to the next crafternoon tea xxx

We left an A board up with a map on it, but perhaps the staff cleared it away prematurely? The plant nursery is at the Metropolitan Housing site on Hugh's map.

No no, was my fault, we were in the playground, so didn't see the map, but I should have checked with you guys anyway while we were in the cafe. We will know for next time!
